Face recognition is a technology that allows you to automatically identify (recognize in a photo or video) or verify (confirm that this particular person is in the frame). For recognition, neural networks are used that can read and analyze the unique features of a human face, and then compare them with the database.
The technology is based on two neural networks:
The first is the"aligner" network. It takes a picture that comes from a surveillance camera, detects all the faces it can find, and then aligns them: it detects the points of the eyes, nose, and mouth on the face.
The second is the"recognizer" network. It accepts the input of an aligned image transmitted by the first neural network, and outputs a face vector - that is, a set of fixed-length numbers. For similar faces, the network produces similar vectors and vice versa.
